We understand that things don’t always go according to the plan.
If you think that you will not be able to engage with your studies for some time, you will need to request for a period of interruption to your registration. It is important that you notify your faculty and submit your request as promptly as you can and we will do our best to support you through the process.
You can find information on how to interrupt your registration in the following online resources:
Academic Regulations for PGR awards, section D. Registration.
Postgraduate Research Student's and Supervisor's Handbook, section K, Changes to Registration, p.68 “Interruption of studies”.

When submitting your request, please provide your supporting statement and relevant evidence. If the evidence and statement are confidential, please indicate this at the point of submission.

Your request for interruption to registration will be considered by the Faculty Research Degrees Committee (FRDC) and you will receive an email confirmation of the outcome.

We understand that interrupting your studies can be a difficult decision to make and would like to remind you of the support available via our wellbeing team.
