We know there are times where halls may not be as quiet as you need them to be so you can study or sleep or just enjoy some peace and quiet in your room. We have teams who can help support you if you are regularly disturbed or having problems dealing with noisy hallmates.

Your licence agreement states that noise should never be audible (heard) outside the room you are in, so this applies to your hall mates too. If you are not sure if your music / tv or general chatter can be heard outside your room, check with a flatmate and see if they can hear you. If you can hear them then have a chat and make an agreement about steps you can take to avoid causing each other any disturbance.

If you have chatted to your flatmate before and problems continue then you can speak to your duty Resident Assistant(RA) in their daily engagement time, or give them a call. Their details are on the poster in your kitchen and in your student handbook. Alternatively raise an enquiry with our team and we can offer you some support, advice and guidance for a resolution.

If you are disturbed by a loud party or other noise that is stopping you sleeping or causing you distress or disturbance then call your RA and they will come to help. If this is during the daytime, keep a note of the details and raise an enquiry with the team or pop in to the reception at your hall or visit the team on campus who will be able to help.
