If you need to apply for a new CAS to extend your visa for more than 3 months and your programme of study requires ATAS, you will need to apply for new ATAS clearance.
If you are unsure if you need to apply for new ATAS clearance, take a look at our ATAS webpage which includes a list of all programmes which require this. If you didn’t need an ATAS certificate when you first started your studies with us, but you have since changed programme or research area, it is important to consider whether your new programme/research requires ATAS clearance.
We strongly recommend for you to apply for new ATAS clearance as soon as possible as we will need to see your new ATAS certificate before we are able to consider issuing a new CAS.
If you need any more information please see our ATAS webpages.
