It is not necessarily a straightforward task to determine whether or not a student is missing. During assessment periods, reading weeks or vacations it can be difficult to distinguish whether a student is merely absent or missing. There are usually quite simple explanations why a student is ‘missing’. They may, for instance, have visited family or friends without having told someone; or have gone on placement elsewhere and fellow students may not know this; or they may have left the University.
If you haven't been able to contact someone and are worried about their safety call the police straightaway on 101, or 999 if you think it's an emergency.
You're welcome to contact the Student Wellbeing team on wellbeing@gre.ac.uk and they'll follow the uni's internal guidelines to check on the student's wellbeing for you. We are not able to share confidential information with you.
