If you submit an assignment late for an unavoidable reason, you can request for extenuating circumstances. If your request is approved, you may be given an extension to submit your work without penalty.
If you submit work up to fourteen calendar days after the deadline without approved extenuating circumstances, your work will still be marked but the grade will be capped at a maximum mark of 40% for undergraduate assignments and 50% for postgraduate assignments.
If you submit work later than fourteen calendar days after the deadline it will be recorded as a non-submission, given a mark of zero and the exam board is likely to recommend that you resit the assignment.
Extenuating circumstances must be requested within the stipulated timeframe and are only granted if specific, evidenced conditions are met. For more information, please visit our extenuating circumstances information pages.
