If you are given an exit award (e.g. a DipHE, CertHE, PGDip, or PGCert), this means you have achieved a specific number of credits but have not completed your degree in full. This means you are not eligible for the Graduate Route, and the Visa Compliance Team will not report your successful completion to UKVI. For more information, please see our Graduate Route webpage.

Also, if you complete your programme of study earlier than expected, we must inform UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) of this. As you will no longer be an active student, we will withdraw our Student visa sponsorship. UKVI will then curtail (shorten) your visa and write to you with an earlier visa end date.

Please note that we cannot tell you specifically when UKVI will shorten your visa as this is a UKVI process in which we have no involvement.
