If you are a current resident in university accommodation or a current student living in the private sector, who would like to live in halls next year, you can apply for a room from 1st February. Rooms are booked on a first come first serve basis from 25th February and you will be provided with further information, after submitting your application.
If no rooms are available when you log in to book, you can join a waiting list and regularly check availability for your preferred room or room change if you booked a second or third choice option. Rooms may be released from March so check back regularly to see if any new rooms have become free.
Most rooms will be available at the Avery Hill Village and Medway residences and the availability in Greenwich is limited so before you apply, think about where you might want to live and your different housing options. You can also check out the hall fees and facilities on the university website at https://gre.ac.uk/accommodation
You will probably need to select a different flat to the one you may be living in this year, unless you are a current student who will be returning for their third year, as most students will currently be living in flats held for new students. So think about what floor and block you might prefer before bookings open.
Booking with friends
You can book with up to two friends by creating a group and information can be found on your accommodation portal about how to do this, group creation will start from 1st February and when your group is formed then the leader can book you and your friends into the same flat when bookings open. Make sure you chat to your group leader to let them know the type of room you might prefer or any rooms you could not accept. If there are more than two friends you would like to live with, you can form two groups and both group leaders can book into the same or close by flats, on bookings day.
Booking conditions - current residents returning to hall
Remember if you return to live in halls you must make sure you are up to date with your hall fees as you cannot live in halls after the end of this licence period, if you have any outstanding fees. Chat to the team if you have any questions or support needs about fee payments.
Special housing requirements
If you have any special requirements for a specific hall or room type, you can request early access to the booking form by filling out a priority housing request. If your request is accepted then you will be able to book your room from 17th February before other students book their accommodation. You will need to provide evidence to support your request and can chat to the team if you have any questions.
Securing your booking
You will need to sign a licence agreement and pay a deposit to secure your room. Make sure you read the licence carefully as there may be some changes for the new academic year which you will need to be aware of. If your friend booked your room, log in after they have made the booking and make your application and complete your licence agreement and deposit. If you forget to do this then you could lose the room they selected for you.
For more information and to make a booking, check out your accommodation portal and link to applications and bookings. You can access the portal through the "my student life" tab on your portal.
