There are staff, specialist teams, services, apps and initiatives that are in place to help students feel safe and secure on our campuses.  A lot of this information has been collated on our STAART webpage under the Peace of Mind on Campus section.

However a few things to highlight are that students can download the free SafeZone App which will alert appropriate teams on campus if there is an incident that needs emergency response from our security teams or first aiders.  It also is a useful tool for those who may have a PEEP and need to share their location (e.g., in a dedicated refuge area) if a building needs to be evacuated due to a fire alarm.

There is also a Student Assistance Programme called Spectrum life that offers 24/7 365 days a year cover to discuss a range of topics with and an online Report and Support platform where concerns can be raised.

But, if students are ever worried about their safety or want to talk to someone about their concerns, they can also approach any member of staff who will be there to listen, help and point them in the best direction for more support if needed.
