During online registration, you will have the opportunity to add a preferred name and you will not need to provide any evidence or proof to do this.
During online registration if you do not have a preferred name, please leave this section blank rather than adding a comment such as "none" or "N/A" as we will treat anything provided as a preferred name.
If you have completed your registration, please visit one of our Student Centres or submit an enquiry through the Digital Student Centre, giving us the preferred name to add to or change on your record.
Please note that we are working towards using preferred names wherever possible. However, some processes, tasks or official documents at the university - such as your ID card, student letters, and certificates - must use your legal name.
